Young forward Leo Afonso, developed in the Inter Miami CF Academy, has been selected in the second round of the 2024 MLS SuperDraft and has signed a contract until the end of the 2024 season with options for extension until 2027. Afonso, 22, has stood out in Inter Miami II and in his brief appearances with the First Team, demonstrating his talent and potential.
With four goals in two regular season games of the MLS NEXT Pro, Leo Afonso leads the league’s scoring chart. His collegiate experience with the University of Virginia team, where he scored 22 goals in 59 matches, has prepared him to make the leap to professional soccer with Inter Miami CF.
