Ter Stegen sidelined by injury: Barcelona loses their captain!
Barcelona – Marc-André ter Stegen, FC Barcelona’s goalkeeper, is facing a recovery period of six to nine months after successfully undergoing surgery for a complete rupture of the patellar tendon in his right knee. The operation, conducted by Dr. Joan Carles Monllau and supervised by the club’s medical staff, marks a major setback for both the player and the team.

Ter Stegen’s season is over
The German goalkeeper sustained the injury during Barcelona’s 1-5 win against Villarreal in LaLiga. The injury occurred late in the first half as Ter Stegen awkwardly landed while attempting to clear a high ball, forcing him to leave the field on a stretcher.
A key player sidelined
Having played every match this season, Ter Stegen bids farewell to the campaign after becoming the third goalkeeper with the most league appearances for Barcelona (289), surpassing Antoni Ramallets. Now, Barça will have to face the challenge of continuing without their captain between the posts.
