The Portland Thorns closed their regular season with a 2–0 road win over the Houston Dash on November 1, powered by two goals from Sophia Wilson.
Wilson opened the scoring in the 34th minute after a backheel pass from Reilyn Turner. She added a penalty in the 70th minute, converting a retake after Houston encroachment prompted a video review. The brace lifted Wilson to a career-best 15 goals for the season.
Portland now turns its attention to the NWSL playoffs. The sixth-seeded Thorns will visit the third-seeded Washington Spirit at Audi Field on Sunday, November 8. Kickoff is set for noon Pacific on ABC—a date for local women’s soccer fans to mark on their calendars.
