César Arturo Ramos Palazuelos, Alberto Morín, and Marco Bisguerra are unable to return to Mexico after fulfilling a commitment in Saudi Arabia, due to flight suspensions caused by the conflict in the Middle East.

The Referees Commission of the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) confirmed that the three officials are in Doha, Qatar, awaiting conditions that allow their return to the country.

The referees traveled to the region to officiate the match between Al Qadisiyah and Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League. However, the recent escalation of the conflict in the Middle East has led to the closure of airspace in several countries, making it impossible for commercial flights to depart from Qatari territory.

The FMF reported that it remains in constant communication with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) to monitor the situation and arrange for the safe return of the Mexicans. The Mexican Chancellery has issued recommendations for citizens in the region given the instability of international air traffic.

So far, no date has been set for the referees’ return, which will depend on the normalization of flight operations and the safety of Qatar’s airspace.
