In an intense second match of the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs 2025 first round, Inter Miami CF fell 2-1 on the road against Nashville SC, forcing a decisive third game to determine who advances to the next stage.
Gerardo “Tata” Martino’s side had a tough start as Sam Surridge opened the scoring for Nashville from the penalty spot in the 9th minute. Just before halftime, Jack Bauer extended the lead with a powerful strike that left goalkeeper Rocco Ríos Novo with no chance.

Despite the setback, Lionel Messi once again made his mark, scoring a spectacular left-footed goal in the 90th minute — his 32nd of the season — assisted by Rodrigo De Paul. Although it wasn’t enough to equalize, the goal keeps Inter Miami’s hopes alive.
Fans enjoyed the match at the official Heineken Watch Party, which featured a live DJ, drinks, and exclusive prize raffles during halftime.
The series is now tied 1-1 and will be decided on Saturday, November 8 at Chase Stadium in Miami. The winner will advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals to face the victor between Orlando City SC and Atlanta United.
